"Follow the Path of He Who Has Turned to Me In Sincere Repentence and Obedience"
Sahl ibn `Abdullah al-Tustari was asked about the ways of the Spiritual Path and replied,
The basis of this method of ours are six: Holding fast to the Qur'an, taking the Sunnah as our exemplar, withholding one's evil from people, avoiding acts of disobedience, repentence, and fulling rights owed to others.
