As salaamu 'alaykum,
I would like to ask, I had heard that Sayyid Abul Hasan an Nadwi had written books in a variety of languages including English.
Is this true that he wrote books in English and is the book entitled "Guidance From The Holy Qur'aan" published by Islaamic Foundation taken from material of his I (rahimahullaah) that is originally english or is it a translation?

Bismillahi Rahmani Rahim
I was trying to discover who Shaykh Abul Hasan Nadwi is and over the weekend when i went to a bookstore i saw "Guidance from the Holy Quran" but i didnt know who he was. So then when i came home i find out more about him, and that he is indeed a very big scholar. Its is a very good book i think and i will buy it one day inshAllah. Actually, he has many many books.

Waalaikum Assalaam
Guidance from the Holy Quran is a wonderful book. I would highly recomend you to read it! The Maulana had such deep insights. You can really see how he took an ayah; understood it; and acted upon or lived by it. The book is translated by Abdur Raheem Kidwai. I believe that the Maulana knew English well but wrote in Arabic and Urdu. If you would like to know more about Sayyid Abul-Hasan Ali Nadwi and see a list of some of his books go to:
