this is a dear friend of mine mashallah the way she became muslim it shows no one has an excuse not except al islam
Asalam alikum,
When i was in 11 i had a best friend she was a somalian sister, i remeber when it was ramandan she wouldn't come to lunch with me so i asked her why she is not eating, she told me how she had to fast for one month as part of her religion, i told her "No you have eat your going to die." she hadn't explained to me that you could eat at night time lol!!
she brought me in little books about Islam the small dawah ones and i read them i was very intrested but i just put it to the back of my mind.
I started listing to how my family felt about religion, which they hated and mocked, even though they are Jews, they even hate there religion. through out the whole of school i was still intrested but like most teenage girls in London i was into the boys and the music. i was seeing a great change in my friend she was covered up properly she was not listen to music and stuff so we kind of grew apart.
by the time i was 15 i had a boyfriend who lived on the opposite side of London to me he happened to be Muslim to, one day i went to his area and he and his friend came and met me we were just out in the park and stuff then he got a phone call and said to me "wait here i am coming back my sister needs me to help with the shopping." so i was waiting but his friend was still with me, he freind was also muslim by the way. then his friend said to me "come with me i will take you to him cos he is taking a while."
so i got up and he took me to what i thought was my boyfriends house, i walked in and the door shut, he was no where to be seen infact there was no one there except me and his friend. naturally i started worring but then he said, "i can't take you to his house his family can't see you." and stupidly i agreed to understand the situation.
as we waited i grew increasingly worried i went to the toilet to think about what i was going to do, how would i say i was leaving and stuff when i came out of the toilet i told the boy "Oh i am just going to the shop i am coming back!" as i tried to open the door it was locked and he came over put something sharp on my head and told me it was a gun and to lay on the bed. without to much detail he then raped me!!
after this i hated muslims i hated them SO much when the trail went to court he got found NOT GUILTY!!! which hurt even more all i can remember is he swore on the quran and he was lying that really bothered me!!!
two years later when i was 17, i was at my friends house we were sitting down an he put Islam channel on! i heard the adhan i began to cry and he asked why. i told him i wanted to become a muslim and he was shocked he sat there and taught me about prayers all night. he then phoned a mosque and told them about me, the brother who answered the phone informed my friend that his wife was a revert and he got her to contact me two weeks later on Agust 25th 2004 i was at the mosque saying the shaharda.
Also the boy who i went out with and his friend use to prank call me and say stuff like we got away with rape lets see if we can get away with murder, until after months of this obviously i had become mulsim i aswered the phone and said Asalam alykum... the phone went silent and then hung up and i never got one of those calls since.
May Allah forgive those brothers for what they did, and may Allah turn them to seek forgiveness Amin.
