Asalaam Alaikum

You know how we have to concetrate on our Salah? Does it still count if we concentrate like....on Allah SWT. For example His mercy...Or stuff like that. Does it still count as if we were concentrating through the whole thing. I heard the part that we concentrate on is only counted. no other parts like 'what am i doing after this?' or whatever. So does thinking about Allah SWT...does it count as concentrating on our Salahh or does it not?

Whilst performing any form of worship we are told to: worship allah as though we are seeing him. And while we see him not, he surely sees us. That is called Ihsan. It is undesirable to think of worldly things whilst in salah but say you come accross an ayah about tawheed and you start thinking about the oneness of Allah e.t.c then its all good.
In salah we stand infront of ALLAH SO IF WE THINK ABOUT HIM NAMAZ IS COUNTED. Wallahu Alam. Also namaz doesnt get faskh (break) if we think of worldly things in salah. That is why we are told to pray sunan and nawafil so they can make up for the fardh we havent performed as it should be performed.

Just to clarify a point our respected sister A D I D A S said, we have been told to pray the sunan (and nawafil) as they act as an intercession for the deficiencies in the Fard salaah. This does not mean that missed Fard salaah does not have to be made up if we pray our Sunnah, but that if there were any deficincies, e.g. lack of concentration, then :insh: the sunnat and nawafil salaat will intercede.

Wallahu Alam.
