Salam to all,

I am a Muslim but without a madhab (hope this is not a problem). My real problem is that I have Obssesive Compulsive Disorder (Waswas in Islam) and I havemany problems because of this. Iwould like someone to help me by explaining first the rules of najaasat and cleanliness.

I hope i am putting this in the correct section, otherwise i can put it somewhere else. I think my problem, part of it at lesat, is because i do not know the islamic rules with respect to what is clean what is dirty how to remove najees.

so i hope for your response, since i require help. i will explain my specific problems later.

Ok basically know this first.

Everything is pure until proven with certainty that it is impure. Certainty is not lifted by doubt.

Those 2 things should help you alot.

It's not really a problem that you have no madhab as long as you follow Mujtahids (qualified scholars) in every action that you do (Salat, Wudu, Fasting) according to the Qur'an and Sunnah. As it tells us in the Qur'an "ask the people of Rembrance (ahlul dhikr) if you do not know."

An easy to understand manual to Islam in all parts of your life as interpreted by valid scholars (so that means if you follow everything in this you will be okay in the day of judgement) is this book right here:

http://www.guidinghelper.com/pdf/GH_Explanation.pdf

It will give you an explanation of the najassa rules and alot of other things ok?

I also have another pdf file that I will insha Allah upload shortly.

Pure and Impure in Maliki Fiqh.

There are a few errors in that text which I would like to point out:

1) The "sprinkling method" must only be used if there is doubt - not if there is certainty. If you are certain something is impure and you want to clean it you have to:

a) Wipe it off with your hand/paper towel/washcloth and purifying water.
b) Wash it if it is a porous surface like a carpet, rug, or clothing.

2) The "sprinking method" makes the impure into pure if you are having doubts whether it is pure or not.

Assalamualikum, it comes in the hadith that the prophet (saw) said this is caused by a jin called walhan. The remedy mentioned in the hadith is that you should wash each body part or item seven times, after the seventh washing you are automatically deamed as clean. You do not need to worry anymore. Also if your problem is serious then you should seek professional help.

wassalam

It will take me some time to read all of that. But i have one question stillfrom what i have read so far:

The piece says that clothes washed in a washer have to go through two cycles. but i am a student only and do not have a luxury of wasiung my clothes with anythihng other than water and a bucket.so what should i do, and what about the objects that have been touched by these clothes if in fact they are not clean???

I guess you can start seeing the problems i am having inside my mind fromtehse type of questions,if the points are excessive.

Assalamualikum brother i was asked a similiar question like this, i am posting the question and the answer that i gave. Might be helpful to you.

One put clothing soiled by both mazi and maniyy into the washing

this is the answer that i gave

Assalamualikum, To answer the question, according to Hanafi fiqh washing the
impure clothes 3 times is not a condition!! The condition is that the
najasat should not remain even if you were to wash it one time.

I dont seem to understand why the najasat hasn't gone by washing it twice in
a washing machine? if this is the case then just wash it again, that will
be no problem.
In this case you will not need to resort to the shafi madhab.

The table you put the clothes on will remain pure unless you can see or
smell semen on it, even though the clothes are wet. Again washing the table
and the water falling onto the carpet or ground does not make the carpet
impure. Your books clothing and bedding are pure.

The way to clean tables and other objects such as a mirror where the najast
cannot actully permeate that object is by wiping it with a clean towel or
cloth, passing water over the whole thing is not necessary.

Also the same will apply to the rest of the clothes that were put into the
machine with these impure clothes, if there is no sign of najasat on them
then they will be classed as pure.

There is nothing to worry about.

hope that answers your question.

Wassalam.

I also wanted to ask that if i am outside and a few drops of unclean things happen to come onto my clothes, should i sprinkle water on it, or leave it as it is, or what should i do (considering that i live in a place where i have to go to the masjid, there is no excuse for me to go "home and pray when i have time" or other similar excuses).
