quran decoration

Asalam alikum wr wb,

i wanted to know inshallah if puttng quran in your house as decoration is haram! i know for example if you put certain verses from the quran on your wall with the intention of it protecting you this is haram! and i heard a hadith about one of the signs of the day of judement will be using the quran as decoration. and i have learned its not something that the phrophet (saw) practiced.

is it best to not do it?

We will need to understand that customs and habits are permissible in Islam unless they have been specifically made forbidden. There is no prohibition found in regards tousing the verses of the Quran as works of art and calligraphy. This is a special art practiced and promoted by Muslims for many centuries. Therefore it is not Haraam.

I Have Heard in a book by a scholar that it is NOT Good to hang up Quran for Decoration.

I think the danger is there that in societies, Quran is only there for decoration and it ceases to be a book of guidance and mercy, it becomes only as some sort of arabic calligraphy albeit God's words, on display. It is already happening.

Very good words brother. I agree with you.

However, if the reason for doing it is to remind you on God and prohibit you from doing bad, I can understand. But just to hang there just because, then the Qu'ran doesn't serve any purpose of having. This is my personal opinion.
