Salaams

Firstly a few points to remember about Arf ash-Shazzhi and about this copy:

1. Firstly, it shouldn't be taken to be a commentary of Tirmizi but rather as a student's notes of the lesson. Thus any mistakes, omissions etc would be attibuted to the student and his misunderstanding of the lesson or a slip of the pen when taking down notes. There are many such errors, which our senior ulama have drawn our attention to.
The same applies to all other compilations of the lessons of Ulama eg. Faidul Bari, Dars Tirmizi and taqreer tirmizi of Mufti Taqi etc.
Ml Safdar has discussed this issue in his book "Ahsanul Kalam" (I think thats the name). ALso when Mf. taqi saheb was queried by some of our Ulama regarded certain ma'alah in dars tirmizi, he said that whats in it cannot be attributed to him as he never wrote it nor did he check it.
In fact there are many big mistakes in it.
It is very sad that this book has ended up becoming the main manual used by Ulama teaching tirmizi, who then slip up wherever the compiler slipped up.

2. Secondly, the published copy of Arf ash-Shazzi is terrible, full of mistakes. This online copy is taken from the Dar ihya at-Turath copy which contains all the same mistakes the old Indian copies contain, thus it isn't very reliable.
The book is currently being editted by a muhaqqiq with permission from the family of the compiler, using the orignal manuscript copy and checking up the other books of Allamah Kashmeri etc.

SO the summary if use the book, but if u find something seeming wrong or in contradiction to the famous view, check it up and don't rely on this book.

3. For ml.Nazim and others.
Instead of wasting time doloading word files from mishkat.net, rather first download the program - found on miskaat as well- called al-Mawsu'ah ash-Shamilah version 2.
It contains over 1800 books, as well the ability for you to add books from word files.
So first see whats on it, then download other books that u want for adding to it.

You can download thousands of books from the foll. websites as well:

http://www.sahab.org/books/index.php
http://www.saaid.net/book/index.php

however the site where the books are placed originally and which contains the most books, albiet in a very disorganissed manner is:Multaqa ahlil hadith:
http://www.****************/vb/forumdisplay.php?s=&daysprune=&forumid=16

Here you can get help on the mawsuah ash-Shamilah as well.
