What are some good girls' madressas in South Africa?
Especially for someone from America.

Does Madressa Zakariyya have a girls' madressa?

Any info would be highly appreciated.

Just things in general. Like how are studies over there, and how do they compare to other madressas. How are the facilities over there, and how do they compare to other madressas. Are there other madressas in South Africa which are better? And also, if any of the madressas have a website a link would be greatly appreciated.

The main boarding madrassas that I know of are Zakariyyah Park,Azaadville and Madrassa Taalimun Niswaan in Pietermaritzburg

I can't comment on the aalimah studies at Zakariyyah Park as my sister is studying Qur'aan there...I do know that it's a 5 year course. It's 4 years at Azaadville and If I'm not mistaken 4 years in PM-Burg as well.

I have only seen the Madrassa at Zakariyyah park. As I said there are many foreign students there ( russia, thailand, canada, zimbabwe, malaysia etc etc) .

The students have to keep to the set madrassa times.

There is a big Jamaat Khana,a dining hall, sport area, classrooms.

The facilities include boarding , tuck shop and laundry (although most students prefer to wash their own clothes).

The rules and regulations of the madrassa have to be adhered to strictly.

About 7 to 8 students board together in a room. The basic requirements are provided - i.e a place to sleep, bed, wudhu khana and bathroom facilities. It's clean as the students have to all pitch in and tidy up everyday.

From what I hear the aalima studies in all these madrassas are quite intense.

I know of a girl who left Zakariyyah Park madrassa to study at Azaadville , I don't know her exact reason but she preferred Azaadville. Then again that's her experience...

Moulanas teach at some of the Madrassas and purdah is adhered to strictly (they teach from behind a screen)

Ma'af that's all I can say for now. I don't know of any websites.I could get you the contact numbers of the above 3 madrassas if you wish to enquire from the madrassa directly.

That's interesting, I have a cousin who's looking for an alimah program to enroll in. What language is the curriculum there taught in?

As salaamu alaikum

I think in Zakariyyah Park it's english orientated the 1st year and then from 2nd year more urdu-orientated , i stand to be corrected though , will have to find out about that

The number for Zakariyyah Park Girls Madrassah ( I never quite get the name I think it's Madrassah Munieul Islam ) is +27 11 859 1367

Will get the other numbers Asap insha Allah, Ma'af for the delay

If I'm not mistaken there was a thread with regards to girls madrassahs in south africa ...though I can't find it, so I'm not sure...
