assalamu alaykum. quite honestly, i think people need to let go of this whole idea of "this place is salaf and that place is salaf..". Ask yourself exactly WHAT is a salaf? The term "salaf" is basically defined as adherents to a Sunni Islamic school of thought who view the first three generations of Muslims, Mohammed's companions, and the two succeeding generations after them as examples of how Islam should be practiced which is, in my humble opinion, how we should all be thinking. And Allah knows best.
