Assalaamu a'laykum everyone

As part of an orthodox new muslim group we are trying to write a new muslim guide. This is what we currently have: http://www.nottsnewmuslims.com/index.php?option=com_extcalendar&Itemid=29&extmode=view&extid=4 what do people think? I was wanting to do something a bit more complete so that there is no need to buy intimidating mountains of books.
The question is, what needs to go in it? Obviously very clear simple (not simplistic) information on at least some of the 5 pillars, something on creed particularly emphasising on dispelling previously held beliefs... beyond this? What did people find most difficult? Personally I found it difficult to accept that the sole authority for right and wrong is The Lawgiver and not my intellect - so aspects like understanding of sunnah dress and intergender reltions. Also, the great contradiction of information that was given to me - so something of the history of Islam and what state we're in. Further reading would be beneficial too, although nt everyone has a degree education so how would we tackle this? PLease let me know... all of you

:salam: I feel it may prove useful to enter something on scholarly differences of opinion and info regarding the five categories under which actions fall. [For example taking your example of sunnah dress for some wearing shalwar qamis to certain specifications is wajib (sinful to leave) for others the case is not so.] I hope this may be of some assistance.

The site is looking good.

With Peace.

PS. I have recently moved to the Midlands with the intent on working on a similar project to yours. May Allah help us.
