Does anyone know a good abu dawood commentary in peferably english or urdu, even arabic, besides badhlul majhood, something shorter, badhlul majhood is too long, a few volumes?

This is an excellent sharah....the author is the Sadar Mudarris of Mazhaahirul Uloom - Saharanpur.

Shaykh Muhammad Zakariyyah has mentioned about twenty two books and booklets related to explanations of Sunan Abu Dawud: Some are; Ma’aalim Al-Sunnah Al-Khitabee, Marqaat al-Sa’ud by Suyuti, Al-Mujaba by Munzari, Tahzeeb al-Sunnan by Imam ibnul Qayyim, Ghaayah- al-Maqsood by Shams Haqq Abu ali al-Tayyab Azeem Abadi and its abridge edition titled as Aun al-Maabud in four volumes Fath al-Wadood by Sanadee, al-Taleeq al-Maadbud by Shaykh Fakhr al-Hasan Gangohi, Baz’l al-Maj’hood by Shaykh Khalil Ahmad Saharanpuri, an al-Munhil al-Az’b al-Maurud which is incomplete.
