There are two shaykhs that separate Shaykh `Abd al-Rahman al-Shaghouri from Shaykh Ahmad al-`Alawi of Algeria, though he entered the khalwa at the recommendation of Shaykh al-Hashimi himself. Allah be well pleased with all of them. Shaykh `Abd al-Rahman was an inheritor and transmitter of the Hashimi/`Alawi/Darqawi branch of the Shadhili tariqa.
