I have a set of holy quran, recited by Mishary Bin Rashid(if im not wrong, he hails from Kuwait). can i get recitations of the holy book by other qaris, who r really good like Mishary. I think the members hailing from arab countries may help me in providing desired information abt the recitations by other famous qaris, available in CD form.

You may want to go for a recitor called Al-Husary or his student called Al-Minshawi, both egyptian, in order to hear the most correct recorded recitation of the Qur'an (well, that's what they say).

As for beautiful voices and tones (with good following of the rules of recitation too, ofcourse), my personal tips would be Sa'd Al-Ghamidi, taufiq Al-Saigh and Al-Minshawi.

I have a question by the way...Does anybody know if there's any ruling or a preferred way in raising and lowering the voice when reciting? I was just wondering, cause sometimes quite a few recitors raise their voice very high and do it for a long time. Taufiq Al-Saigh comes to mind, even though when he's calm he's my favourite, erg...

Barakallahu fikum.

Thanks brother providing me the valuable information on the subject. Do the qaris have their recitations in CD form? I tried to listen to the recitations by the qaris like sudais n shuraim, but they recite at a fast pace n it is really difficult to comprehend them. Qari Mishary has recited holy quran very slowly n it is easy to comprehend him. If u have any information regarding the CD formats of the recitations of the qaris, mentioned in ur post, plz do inform me

Regards

My favourite recitor is Tawfeeq As-Sayegh. I think he recites very clearly with excellent tajweed and mahsh'Allah his voice is so beautiful! I managed to memorise a fair bit of the Qu'ran by listening to him.

You can listen to him at Islamic Network Audio. I can't post the link as it doesn't show up.
