Salam,
its better to do all of them. Superiority i believe comes with the recitation of the Qur'an though. You should set yourself a regime for the month where you will allot specific times in the day for specific actions, like for example many people regularly read the Qur'an at fajr time.

use this time to get back to Allah swt, and remember Him through lots of dua'ahs, dhikr, and reading qur'an.
this is the time when you will be fasting from sunrise to sunset so use your time wisely.
cut back on time in getting into useless arguments that wont get you anywhere and probably will invalidate your fast and its disliked too to engage in that...
just pray the prayers that you do with the taraweeh and even tahhajjud..
if you want to do extra nafl prayers you can...its not obligatory or sunnah yet if you want to get reward you can...

:salam:
In my personal opinion, more focus on reciting Quran, nawafil, etc.

Salaam,Good question...something interesting I heard is that Imam Ash-Shafii would leave his books of knowledge during Ramadan ,and focus like crazy on Quran...

p.s Obviously, whatever the case may be, if ppl haven't learned stuff like their basic fiqh, and what's fard on them, or have make-up fasts to do and the like, then one would definitely have to put that as their priority....

As Salaamu Alaykum,
I agree with brother Waqqas. A person should definately put priority on learning knowledge that is Fardh, then followed by Qur'an and Nawaafil.
By learning obligatory knowledge we will ensure that the Thawaab we are acquiring isn't placed in a bucket that has a hole. We tend to do acts but also nullify the reward due to our lack of knowledge.
Furthermore, it should be remembered that the like of Imaam Shafi'ee Rahimahullah would dedicate their time to Fiqh in order to benefit the Ummah and preserve the Deen. However, their hearts would be craving to recite the glorious Qur'an. But they would see the importance of their daily work, be it Fiqh or any other work, and would leave aside the Qur'an and Nawaafil (although there would be some of this in their daily lives). Thus when the time of Ramadhan would come they would put everything aside and quence their thirsts with the beauty of the Qur'an and the peace of Nawaafil prayers.
Wallahu A'lam bisawaab.

For sure. I sorta assumed that the learning was other than the fara'idh. Getting knowledge of what is fardh should always be a priority, even outside of Ramadhan.

I'm pretty certain that one cannot perform Qadha fasts in Ramadan, as the fasting itself is obligatory.
If you meant to make up the Qadha after Eid then that is correct.
Just your statement is a little confusing.

if you need to make up fasts its best to do it before Ramadan comes in, and if you couldnt for some reason make it up by that time and this Ramadan has rolled in you have to fast this month, then when it's over..to make up the other ones you missed before the next Ramadan comes in....
you can't do the makeup ones during the month of Ramadan...

Yep. When Ramadhan rolls around, the current Ramadhan's obligatory fasts take precedent over previously missed fasts. The missed ones then should be made up after Eid.

make-up and qadhaa prayers are basically the same, just qadhaa is arabic and make up is english.
still cant be applied in Ramadan during the obligatory prayers, though if you do them other times other than your obligatory times you can make them up..
but not makeup fasts until after Ramadan...
and after you makeup your prayers, have a party with the family and friends.insha'Allah.

Yep, I should have mentioned that as well
Basically, out side of your present time fard: ramadan fasts, and 5 prayers per day, etc, if one has to choose between doing make-ups, and learning something new or other things, one should focus on the make-ups.
