On the site of the Dar ul Uloom Deoband I saw this:

6. To join the hair of the temples with the beard.

It was listed in the makroohaat (tahrimi) relating to the beard

What is the "hair of the temples"?

The temples are two slight indentions on the side of the head - just above the ear.
