However, if we don't discuss such issues and refute the aberrant views that some hold on such issues surely we are inadvertently supoorting them?

But if you do discuss it, you'll get the anti-muslim haters coming in to bash islam bringing along with them teams of people to harass the muslims and administrators by contacting them through the phone and harassing them, and finding out where they live to harass them and flooding their mail and board with their hate as well as daniel pipes and other newspapers posting that we are discussing it and some might think we support or agree with them.

so this is why we shouldn't do it, as it doesnt help us except cause fitnah when it can be avoided insha'Allah.

I really don't think it's all that hard to refute them. It's stupid and not within the folds of traditional Islam - there are plenty of articles by scholars etc on the topic, just refer to any of those.

I agree with the moderators. Discussions like these are not fruitfuil in the least and at worst we will be visited by rabid war mongerers who aim to demonise (eng-Brit) Muslims.
