Assalamu Alaikum,
My understanding is that there are 14 places in the Quran where it is indicated one must prostate i.e. perform sajdah, go into sujud. However I'm confused as to how one should go abouts doing this, bending your head down onto the Quran is not the correct procedure right? So what should one do?
Walaikum Asalam,

Salaams
When a person recites a Sajdah verse, one must perform a Sajdah.
Procedure:
Put the Quran to the side in a nice and respectful manner after recitation is finished or during (which ever you prefer).
Stand facing the Qiblah.
Make intention that you are doing a Sajdah e tilawat.
Go straight into sajdah (like you would do in salaah)
Stand back up or sit up.
Carry on reading the Quran or do some other ibadaat.

As Salaamu Alaykum,
Sister Zahraa, from what I understood, it seems as though you have a misconception on the method of performing Sajdah Tilawat.
The Sajdah does not need to be performed straight away. However, one should put the Qur'an to one side and then stand up to offer the Sajdah similar to the way we do in Salaah.
I hope this answers your question. I'm sorry, due to poor health i cannot write a more detailed answer. However check the following site and Insha-allah you'll find more detail there
