The confernce with Shaykh Abdallah Adhami is in New Jersey - that program is completely different from the one being hosted here in Stony Brook, NY.

We are hosting an ARabic intensive class while the event you are probably referring to is the Muslim Leaders Conference. It also takes place thanksgiving weekend, but it is in Teaneck, NJ. Alhamdulillah it should be very beneficial as well.

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

As-salaamu ‘alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu dear brothers and sisters,

Living in America we often feel we lose out on the sweetness of pursuing and gaining sacred knowledge. With longing, we congratulate the select few who are fortunate enough to go abroad to study the Deen, and simultaneously pray that we too may one day receive the blessed opportunity of sitting at the feet of a scholar, basking in the nur of ‘ilm (sacred knowledge) and soaking up the barakah (blessing) of Islam’s spiritual and intellectual heritage.

Alhamdulillah that day has come.

Mufti Yusuf Mullan (db), leading graduate from Mufti Taqi Usmani’s (db) Darul Uloom in Karachi, Pakistan, founded the Shariah Program in Toronto, Canada in order to impart traditional, sacred knowledge to students and seekers in North America. Using the well-known, well-trusted Dars Nizami methodology Mufti Yusuf teaches Arabic with remarkable skill and grace to students with minimal prior experience with the language.

The Toronto Shariah Program and the Stony Brook MSA present a two-day, weekend Arabic Intensive for which Mufti Yusuf will be flying to New York to show us how the methodology works. Join us and learn the fundamentals of Nahw (grammar) and Sarf (morphology) in a 15 hour course which will be taught naturally as done in the learning institute in Toronto, using a whiteboard and markers.

There will be a nominal fee of $15 for a book and CD, and an additional three-hour, online, follow-up session on a weekend (date to be set later.) This is an incredible opportunity… so take note of it, and be sure to attend!

I got all the info about this as above..just wanted to ask though why it was at two different locations? and if i come in, do we check into the hotel on sat night? and do sisters bunk with other sisters?
i mapped the direction between the two and its about 30 mins each, was wondering if the hotel was between the two....

jazakuAllahkhairun

i know 2 other sisters going to this but trying to get a hold of them too insha'Allah.

Wa 'alaykum as-salaam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu,

The two different locations is somewhat of a long story  but alhamdulillah it works : )

I don't really know exactly where the hotel is geographically in relation to the two masjids.... I'm sorry bout that :T I do know it's about 15 minutes from Selden and about 25 minutes from Bay Shore, so not too bad alhamdulillah.

Yes, you'd check in Saturday night after class. And sisters would be in rooms with other sisters, four per room. If you have friends coming you guys can arrange it such that you stay together. Please e-mail us at ShariahProgramNY@gmail.com to let us how many sisters will be needing housing Saturday night.

Look forward to seeing you there : )
Was-salaam ma'al ikraam..

This is a message for Shaykh Yusuf Mullan. Alhamdulillah your program was very good. And all of us that went to the hotel was up bright and early morning waiting to go to the other mosque.

We checked out of the hotel and were waiting in the lobby and our ride did not show up. We were told that the classes have been canceled and I apologize for this because we were all ready but we did not have a ride to get there. I am in the lobby where I am waiting for my family to come get me and they'll be here in 3 hours or so. insha'Allah.
everyone is a bit sad that it was canceled as they could have went home yesterday.
I just want to say sorry to shaykh yusuf mullan on their behalf and myself that we did make the intention to come on time and we were ready on time yet we could not meet with him.
insha'Allah we'll be able to complete the classes somewhere online i guess.
jazakuAllahkhairun

Ohh come on... you didn't have my personal e-mail. It's posted all over our website.

Anyway, I'm really sorry. Due to unforseen circumstances the organisers had to cancell at the last minute. The organisers were not in a position to make this decision last night. I'm stranded in New York also btw.
