Islamic "State"

As-salamu'alaykum,

I have a feeling, from my observation and readings of Islamic history that for Muslims to create an "Islamic Country" or "State" that this is not supported by the Qur'an and Sunnah. If not then it is bid'ah.
It the first 200 years of Islam I dont see borders going up. In fact they were being removed.

I call this the best leadership mankind has ever seen on the earth. May Allah(swt) be pleased with them and bestow His perfect peace and the blessings of paradice on Our Prophet Muhammad.

The Rasuool(sallahhu alayhe wassalam) never prescribed borders to contain the Muslim Ummah. Why is there borders between Syria and Lebanon? Between Jordan and Syria? Maybe Im mistaken but I think they should all be under the flag of "la illaa ha ill-lallah".
