ANSWERED: band-aids...

Assalamu-alaikum, supposing I get a cut, and put on a band-aid, or some sort of protection to help it heal,and supposing it's on my foot, one of the places within the hanafi madhab(not too sure of the other medhahib(not sure if I spelled that right)) that have to be washed for wudu to be valid,...and, supposing, the water can't go through the band-aid, or protection of some sort, do I have to make tayammum instead?

if there is fear of being harmed by removin the band aid, then u shuld jus pass water over it i tink (but i think this stuff applies to major injuries, not lil cuts :rolleyes: .if its a cut and ther is no further harm then the band aid must b removed.

The following is a shafi` answer but applies in the Hanafi madhab as well.



If it is possible to remove the cast without causing any harm, then one must do so, because in this case, one is able to perform a complete wudu. If, on the other hand, removing it harms one, such as increasing one’s ailment or delaying one’s recovery, then doing so is not required. [1] The rulings regarding casts apply to bandages, and the like, as well.

If the bandage is in a place that must be washed in wudhu, and taking it off will be harmful or will delay recovery, then do masah (wipe with water) over the bandage and do the rest of the wudhu as you would do normally.
