what do you exactly mean by wrap? What is before or after the sentence? Need to know the context....

A friend asked for the translation. She tried this website http://www.systranbox.com/systran/box and got the following: تحت هذا لفاف يكذب بناية إلى أيّ كثير [موسليم] يأتون كلّ سنة أن يعبد إلهتهم

The reason why she wanted the translation is as follows:

She is going to have an art exam on Tuesday. The theme of the exam is WRAPS.

So for her final piece (exam), she decided to paint the ka'nbah with the Muslims around it, and the ghilaaf of the ka'bah being a wrap (ie wrapping the bricks underneath).

So the ghilaaf being the wrap, makes the part: beneath this wrap
The actual building, the bricks etc. undeneath the ghilaaf making: lies a building

and to which many muslims come every year to worship their god (as in every year many muslims come to the ka'bah, the ghilaaf which wraps the actual building underneath, to worship their god).

So, on top of the painting of the ka'bah she wants to write:

Beneath this wrap lies a building to which many muslims come every year to worship their god.

Not sure if that confused you ro explained further.

That translation is inaccurate; it used yakdhibu, which means to lie, as in not tell the truth.

The literal translation is: Found beneath this wrap/covering is such a building to which Muslims come every year to worship their lord.

The word 'wrap' has various words for it but I chose the word Ghilaf because that word is usually used with the covering of the Kabah..people say... Ghilaful Ka'bah. The word building has various synonyms. You can choose on of the three I provided for 'building'. Same goes with the word 'god'.

If you use the word 'Mabna' for building, then it will be Yujadu and Ilayhe instead of Tujadu and Ilayha....

btw...as brother Godilali pointed out..that translation is way wrong from that website...

It would be nice to see how her painting is....

oh and by the way...IMHO...it would have been good if the following words were used:

Beneath this wrap lies a building towards which Muslims face for their five times daily prayers or for their daily prayers.


Then obviously...the whole Arabic sentence will have to be changed and then it's back to the drawing board :)

btw..the reason why that website translated the sentence with the word Yakdhibu is because the sentence to be translated had the word 'lies' in it... that's why the word 'Yakdhibu' came up which means to not tell the truth... whereas the word 'lies' in your sentence means to be found or located in a certain area....

oh well...that's computers and the internet for you....

i am translating a sentence

transliteration as followis

sidtu at tuyur bil bunduqiya

now i no tuyur is bird and bunduqiya a rifle or gun

what is sidtu

saad with a kasra
dhal with a sukoon
taa with dhamma

and i cant find the word sidtu in hans wehr

i am doing the excercises from Mualimul Insha'a

صدت is the واحد متكلم of صاد

The middle letter (yaa) fell off.

The verb is صاد يصيد
You will find it in the dictionary under: ص ي د

Would the sentence now read

The Birds are hunted with a rifle

Tuyur has a fatha on the raa

Fiquring out when a letter has been dropped is an important part of sarf.
There are many situaions when a yaa or waw is dropped off, in order to lighten the letter.
You will come to that section in sarf, inshallah

Now, if siddu is a verb, how would it be translated?
and who/what would be the doer?

Ponder over that, then translate the sentence.

The fel is Siddu
The fa'il is Bunduqiya
The Maf'ool is Tuyur

Because saad dhal and taa are wahid mutajallim it means 'I DID'

so the sentence would mean

i hunted the bird with a rifel

Only remember, that when sidtu means "I hunted", then I become the (Fa'il) doer.

Also, tuyur is plural ie. birds.

a better translation for the word "wrap" would be " كسوة" expecially if it's being used with the kaba. The word "غلاف" can be a cover/wrap but it's not used to describe the cover/wrap thats on the kaba.
