Assalaamualaikum,

I am reading one article in Daily Times (http://www.dailytimes.com.pk/default.asp?page=story_22-10-2004_pg3_5) and the author writes:
The sessions courts are under pressure from religious organisations willing to do violence under the concept of amr and nahi which means vigilante action as allowed by the Quran.

Is there anyone who has an article on this subject or can shed light at how this is allowed in quran and hadith?

Ma'as Salam

Salam,

Enjoining the good and forbidding the evil is what is meant here.

Actually he's wrong, the lower courts are more likely to give blasphemy convictions because there are more Deen-loving judges in the lower courts, because in MOST cases only pure mulhideen are allowed in the higher courts
