People praise the peacock for his wonderful plumage,
But he himself is ashamed of his ugly legs.
Saadi, a great man, was praised in an assembly, his good qualities were played up and his virtues magnified. "That is sufficient my friends" he interrupted his praisers. You know only my virtues because you can see them easily. They are open, but you do not see the shortcomings of my heart and my hidden defects - which I know, and it is because of this shame that my head is always bowed before Allah, Who knows me best.
