A brother who has converted to Islam many years ago (about 15 YR or so) has been told by one of his muslim brothers that he needs to make islamic marriagee with his wife(who is catholic) and that their previous marriage 23 years ago is no loger valid. Is this requirement is a right fatwa based on any or all the four madhab. Jazak Allah khair for your help:rolleyes: :rolleyes: :rolleyes: );

According to the Shafi'i and Hanafi schools, the brother's conversion to Islam is NOT an invalidator of his previous marriage to a Christian woman.
So, assuming that he did not do anything in the interim that IS an invalidator, his original marriage is still valid.
