Heroes of Lal Masjid
'Our Fallen Soldiers'
As thick smoke engulfed Lal Masjid that brutal bloody night
Armed Pak soldiers stormed inside shooting all within sight
Trampling over its pure floor they entered
With total disregard for life they massacred
Holy Qur'an and literature torn and scorched, given no attention
Talib fired at when gathering desecrated pages, given no mention
Charred and blood-soaked bodies scattered too great in number
Eight days they had lasted deprived of food, water and slumber
Echoes of gunfire came from the Masjid turning it redder than red
Defence of Islamic Laws and Honour the cause of this bloodshed
Future scholars of Islam, the huffaz of Qur'an ul Mubeen
Shown no mercy, slain for upholding our beloved Deen
Yet doubt is still cast by many Muslims that unlawful was their fight
Should not enjoining good & forbidding evil be every Muslim's plight?
Did they not strive hard to rid the streets of vice and major sin?
Did they not have deep passion to elevate the kalimah, and win?
Towards them the locals turned for inspiration and protection
Thus students shouldering the duty of morality and correction
This empty post of responsibilty had been rushed to be filled
In Allah they placed their trust, and for Him they were killed
Demolishing Masajid and Madhaaris is the work of the devils
Labelling those who resist their evil as 'militants and rebels'
Allah alone witnesses injustices committed against His servants
Allah alone witnesses those wholly submitted among His servants
With smiles on their bright faces the students entered the grave
Such purity, loyalty and bravery we can only pray for and crave
Detached from the glittering dunya, having fought fitan and fasaad
They returned to the Lord in victory having fulfilled their Jihaad
May Allah swt accept these brothers and sisters as shuhadah
May He grant us the honour of accompanying them in Jannah...
Ameen, ameen, Allahumma ameen!
