Sallam Alaykum,
Does anyone know of a publisher other than darussalam that published an english translation of Ibn-Kathir's Tafseer??
The reason for my asking, is that I found some opinions in the darussalam "abridged" version have been taken out. For example, in the original Arabic version, Ibn Kathir gave two opinions regarding the Ayah of the people who violated the Sabath (ie. Surat Al-Baqarah, Ayah 65). The first, was that they were literally transformed into apes and pigs, the second, that they were metaphorically (fi mathal) turned into apes and pigs. In the "abridged" darussalam version, the second opinion is absent, and only gives the literal opinion...
I've heard that darussalam plays around with books a couple times... any opinions on that, or examples/proofs??
