Assalam Alaykum,
I don't care how many times you've heard it, it never loses it's beauty. Imam Busayri was IN LOVE with the Prophet (SAWS). I just love this poem.

Especially these lines:

Fa mablaghu al-'ilmi fihi annahu basharun
wa annahu khayru khaliqillahi killihimi

The sum of their knowledge concerning him is that he was a mortal
And that he was the best of Allah's creation

(Transliteration and translation from Sunnah.org)

It applies so much to the Wahhabis of today. "But Mohammad (SAWS) is a man! Mohammad was a human being!!"

As Shaykh Hisham Kabbani said,
A human being but if you listen to Surat al-Qadr it says:
"Tanazzalu Al-Malā'ikatu Wa Ar-Rūĥu Fīhā Bi'idhni Rabbihim Min Kulli 'Amrin"

"Therein come down the angels and the Spirit by God's permission, on every errand"

Ok... human being, but Allah (SWT) sent down the ANGELS and the RUH to HIM!!!

And another thing,

Surat al-Kawthar refutes the Wahhabis completely:
'Innā 'A`ţaynāka Al-Kawthara

To thee have We granted the Fount (of Abundance).

THE ABUNDANCE. Kawthar comes from the word Katheer in Arabic. Katheer means TOO MUCH. Kawthar! Allah (SWT) has given Sayyidina Muhammad KAWTHAR, he has given him ABUDANCE, we cannot even fathom what he has given our Beloved Prophet (SAWS)!

Instead, I remember reading on a Salafi website a few months ago, Allahu Alam, "One should not send more Salawat on the Prophet (SAWS) then he does dhikr of Allah (SWT)"

How can that be true? Allah (SWT) has given Sayyidina Muhammad (SAWS) al-KAWTHAR!!! Indeed Allah (SWT) says in Surat al-Ahzab:

"'Inna Allāha Wa Malā'ikatahu Yuşallūna `Alá An-Nabīyi Yā 'Ayyuhā Al-Ladhīna 'Āmanū Şallū `Alayhi Wa Sallimū Taslīmāan

'Inna Al-Ladhīna Yu'udhūna Allāha Wa Rasūlahu La`anahumu Allāhu Fī Ad-Dunyā Wa Al-'Ākhirati Wa 'A`adda Lahum `Adhābāan Muhīnāan"

"God and His angels send blessings on the Prophet: O ye that believe! Send ye blessings on him, and salute him with all respect.

Those who annoy God and His Apostle - God has cursed them in this World and in the Hereafter, and has prepared for them a humiliating Punishment."

But anyways back to the Burda, here are some of the most beautiful lines:

wa kayfa tad'u ila al-dunya daruratu man
lawlahu lam tukraji al-dunya min al-'adami

And how could necessity attract to the world, the one were it not for whom the world would not have come out of inexistence?

Muhammadun sayyidu al-Kawnayni wa al Thaqaly
Ni wa al Fariqayni min 'urbin wa 'ajami

Muhammad - Master of the Two Worlds, and of the Two Dense Kinds [human and jinn] and of the Two Branches, Arabs and non-Arabs.

Law nasabat qadruhu ayatuhu 'izaman
Ahya ismuhu hina yud'a darisa al-rimami

Ka al-zahri fi tarafin wa al-badri fi sharafin
wa al-bahri fi karamin wa al-dahri fi himami

A form like the soft lilies, and the fool moon in splendor, a character like the ocean in generosity and Time in endeavors.

Ahh, what a lovely poem. Post up links of recitations and translations. I will insha'Allah at a later time.

But what do the Wahhabis say about Imam al-Busayri (RA)?

"A very dangerous manifestation of Sufism is their calling upon others besides
Allaah...calling and supplicating to the dead. This is major shirk which is
warned against in the Noble Qur'aan:
“And invoke not besides Allaah, any that can neither
profit you, nor hurt you, but if (in case) you did so,
you shall certainly be one of the wrong doers.” [Yoonus
10:106].
Meaning you would then be one of the idolaters.
Al-Boosayree the poet of the Sufis says, addressing the Messenger 􀁕:
“O most noble of the creation I have none from whom I
derive pleasure, other than you when general disaster
strikes. Time never struck me with any harm and I
sought his protection. Except that I attained protection
from all harm.”" (pg. 20)" - "Reality of Sufism"

"And whoever shows enmity to a friend of mine, I am at WAR with him" - Hadith Qudsi.

Subhanallah Brother.

I recently came across a full version of the blessed qaseeda with translation and a brief commentary in urdu. I was amazed at how long it actually is as there are certain verses that have become more popular, particular those majestic verses written in praise of Rasulullah Salallahu'alyhi wasalam

Wasalaam

Yeah it's very very very long. It goes into the Isra and Miraj, Jihad of Rasuallah (SAWS), his birth (SAWS), etc.

"Whoever is under the Assistance of Rasulullah, even if lions encounter him in their den, they will have to grieve!"

"...his greatness has no limit, because if it did, the mortal mouth would have been able to desribe it"

"Muhammad is the Master of the 2 Worlds, of the 2 Nobel Creations(Man and Jinn), of the 2 nations, the Arabs and the non-Arabs"

SUBHANALLAH.
