View Full Version : 1 Simple Question (Regarding Madinah Arabic)
You guys might think I'm dumb for asking this, because it is a stupid question. So please forgive me ahead of time. This about the Madinah Arabic Books. So i downloaded a copy of the books. Now the books are completely in arabic. All I see is arabic, the question is, How do I start? What am I suppose to do?
Jazakallah Khair.

You should actually purchase the Arabic Course for English-Speaking Students Vol. 1-3 (see http://www.onlineislamicstore.com/b6067.html). Each book has an English key in the end.
Additionally, the audios for the texts can be downloaded here: http://www.muhammadnur.com/medinabook1.html

"All I see is arabic, the question is, How do I start? What am I suppose to do?"
That's actually not a stupid question at all. In fact that's the very same question i asked myself and everyone around me when i first started studying arabic. You see, began studying arabic around 7 years ago at Institute of Islamic and Arabic Sciences in America (IIASA Fairfax, Virginia). The institute was a branch of Al Imam university here in riyadh. And exactly like the madinah books the books of IIASA were completely in arabic. At the time i didnt even know how to read arabic, so you can imagine my frustration when i flipped through the pages of the Level 1 book only to find everything written in arabic.
My advice for anyone who is planning to study an arabic course is that they should first find out who the course was written for. The Madinah books as well as Arabiya bain Yadaik and all other books that come from the universities here in K.S.A are meant for students who have at least a very basic understanding of arabic. Not to mention these courses were written keeping in mind that the students will be receiving at least 5 hours of professional instruction and will be mixing with native arabic speakers 24 hours a day.
I know this doesn't answer your question but it's something to keep in mind before you start studying this course.
