Hijab

THE EDITOR OF THE SUNDAY EXPRESS OF TRINIDAD
Brother Musa Ahmad has sent us a copy of a letter written to The Sunday Express of Trinidad regarding hijab. We publish it for the benefit of the readers.

A CHRISTIAN MOTHERS OPINION REGARDING HIJAB
The Editor: Being the mother of several children of school age and a devout Christian, and fighting to bring them up in this satanic age and atmosphere, I really admire the parents and children of those devout Muslims who want their children to wear the hijab in schools with the desire of pleasing God and covering their bodies.
I wish my children would retain their faith but follow them in that respect. When young people are prevented from indulging in spiritual exercises and living with the pressures from their peers, it is very difficult to get them to continue once a good habit is broken.
A man’s religion and belief is what life is about. His educational pursuits are only for this present time. His beliefs and how he lives out his life are what will determine how he stands before God.
I have always admired the extent some of these devout Muslims go to practise modesty, and I think in this age, for Christians, they are an example for us to follow.

SO CALLED CHRISTIAN UNIFORMS
Look at many of our so-called Christian uniforms, they reveal the contours of the bodies of our young people. Are we Christians asking these young girls to give up their modest habit for our pagan uniforms? Haven’t you seen the stares and heard the remarks from men as these young girls pass by, little wonder that in this day and age, porn is the norm.
It comes as no surprise that these young people after wearing these uniforms can quickly adapt to everyday immodesty that is so overwhelming. Please leave the few who are fighting to hold on to the little modesty left in Trinidad and fight bigger issues. The wearing of school uniforms has been around for a long time and it certainly hasn’t achieved much good, because everyone now is complaining of decline in discipline in schools.
I am surprised that Christians would raise such opposition against a religious practise that is done solely for the purpose of pleasing God and for modest reasons.
The founders of Christian religious orders saw the evil of body exposure and this is why the nun’s habit is very much like the hijab. The time has come for us to follow some aspects of the hijab and change our pagan uniforms.
Devout stable Christian

Hope other people also understand soon enuff that the hijab isnt a loss of freedom...its a gain....

I remember this girl saying she hates gettin up early in the morning to wash her hair and style it....I was like...well I just get up and go...no need to be worried abt the way I look....and shes like...yeahh I shud wear it too!!

She asked what the big fuss was with covering...as every1 knows whats underneath....and I was like..thats not true..becoz u wud not be able to describe what my hair looks like....and u cudnt imagine how I wud look with my hair...cud u?...the best thing abt the hijab is that I dnt have to be a slave to fashion...becoz I only dress to impress myself..I mean no women can trully say she goes out dressing nicely for herself!!!..I dnt have to worry abt how men look at me..becoz they cant look at me that way....I respect my body too much to let just any1 c what it looks like....something many gals dnt possess these days unfortunately....I mean if things like porn and stuff didnt exist...wud a man have a certain preference for a womens body..like they do these days?...Wud even women be complaining abt the way they look and go to crazy lengths like plastic surgery and get depressed and be anorexic??

Got her thinking
