salaam alaikum,
Thought this will benefit the people here since most of my posts are of a polemic nature so i thought post up this poem:
Allah creates the causes as well as the effects; the proof of this is mentioned in many ayahs in the quran which testify to this. Also there is a very famous event that took place with nabi ibrahim e.g. the fire; hence the fire only burns if Allah creates the effect of burning inside the fire. The fire which is the cause does not effect anybody. There is a poem which was authored in the 7th century hijri that was compiled by Jabir Ibn Saber al-Minjariky al-Andalusi;
“Qala :
Qul liman yadda’a fakhara
Da’il-fakhra lidhib kibri ya’i wa’l jabaruti
Nasju Dawuda lam yufid layta-l ghari
Wa kana-l fakharu lil-`ankabuti
Wa baq’us-Samandi fi lahabin-ngri
Muzilun fadilata-l yaquti
Wa kadhan-na’amu yastamr’ul jamra
Wa ma’l jamru lin-n’ami bi quti
Translation:
‘Do not be so proud of your self, leave it and be humble to Allah’
‘The one who is attributed with greatness and power’(The armor of nabi dawood, Allah gave dawood the power to make armor without fire but with his own hands)
‘The armor did not help in the night of the cave’
(This is when the prophet was in the cave, when he was migrating and being pursued by the kafir)
‘The harm was not blocked by the armor but the web’
‘The animal called as-sumond can stay in fire without being harmed, which is more amazing then the ability of al-yakoot to withstand the fire’
‘Also the ostrich likes to eat the burning coal, although it is not a common food which people usually eat without being harmed’.
Explanation:
There are three things mentioned in this poem which establish that Allah creates the causes and affects e.g. the web. Allah created in it the effect to protect the prophet. Secondly the fire doest not hurt the animal call samond, therefore Allah does not create the burning effect. Thirdly the ostrich eating the coal, hence the burning effect is not created in the ostrich, so Allah creates the causes and the effects. Thus, Allah determines the causes and effects that revolve around our existence.
Any mistakes are from me may allah guide us all ameen!
