Assalamu-alaikum,

A family member of mine(who I'll call Wardah for the purpose of this story) urgently needs help! While doing a biology lab at school, somebody asked the teacher if they can play music during the lab.The teacher had no problem with this but put a condition which was that all the other students had to agree(there are about 30 ppl in her class). Then the person who wanted the music, asked everyone in the class, if they agree
and there seemed to be no one who rejected this idea, until Wardah gathered all her courage to say that she doesn't want music.SubhanAllah,it was a huge deal, because, in situations like these, it's not easy to stand out so much, when it's so easy to just go with the flow. Anyhow, the person asked my family member why she didn't want music. and my family member explained how in Islam, only certain things are allowed in terms of music(only the duff as in instrument), and practially no western music fits the criteria
and then the person asked Wardah if she can listen to anything at all. Wardah said yes. After saying yes,the person asked Wardah to bring it to the next lab and Wardah happily agreed.

Now this is where your help comes..what nasheeds would be good for a mostly non-Muslim crowd?Keep in mind they're mostly very corrupt people. Many of them are the type who take drugs, have tattoos, etc..another thing to keep in mind is that they're generally artsy type people as well..

Please let me know asap so I can pass on the info to my family member, because her next lab is coming within the next week insh'Allah..

Please post links as well to download the type of nasheed you all suggest, and places where they can be downloaded if possible insh'Allah..

Jazak Allah

Wassalam

assalamu alaikum wr wb

dawud wharnsby songs... a lot of his songs might be for kids yet some of them esp the prophet's hands ones are much more meaningful with strong messages in them.

yusuf islam's songs.... like the bismillaah and praises of the prophet

native deen.... with their m u s l i m im so blessed to be with them and their other rapping songs of siratul mustaqeem...

which brings me to another great nasheed'er...
mustaqeem sahir that sings 'this is islam... people of the world, do you know the truth about islam... or do you think it's about bombing planes and killing innocent people...
forget about the lies, im here to tell you how it really is.
you deserve to know the beautiful truth about this way of life
people of the world, islam it's all about peace
terrorism it doesnt teach, it's all about love, family and charity
and praise to One God it's Islam....
then it repeats the chorus to the 2nd part and 3rd.... it's really masha' Allah really good....

and im trying to think of other songs but im not sure on what kind of people would think of this...but i think these are pretty good.

Assalamalaikum,

I would say Dawud Wharnsby-Ali for sure. I'm not so sure if this would be suitable or not, but how about the Burdah by the Fez singers?
