as salaamu aleykum wa rahamtullahi wa barakatuh :)

Here's something I found relating to tahara that I wanted to confirm with someone...

http://www.islam4everyone.org.uk/downloads/Water.doc

It's a word document about water, najasa and the spreading and removing of the latter. I would like to know if any of you can confirm the correctness of the content of the document in general and point 8.7 specifically. I would also like to know if you have any advise on what to read about the principles and basic rulings in matters of tahara, because I have no access to scholars since there are non where I live (Germany) that I know of.
jazakAllah khair inshaAllah and as salaamu aleykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh :)

It seems ok.

As for 8.7 the more correct explanation of it is that if impure wet clothing and pure dry clothing were kept together, then the dry one would remain pure as long as it doesn't get so wet - because of the wet one- that if the dry one had to be sqeezed, a few drops of water would come out.
So it a few drops come out, then the dry one is also impure.

Also note, that another condition for the dry one to remain pure is that the effect of the impurity must not appear on it
eg. if the wet one was impure because of urine, then if the dry one did not become wet, but the smell of urine appeared on it, then too it becomes impure.

You could use Bahisti Zewar as a resource; I am sure some of the brothers here will link you to an online copy.

And Allah Ta'ala knows best
