Asslamo Allaikum,
A brother has asked me the question so I am going to ask as-is.
Which countries/organisations/Madaris offer intensive Resident Arabic courses for 1-2-3-6 months and are Non-Salafi in orientation?

Al-Fajr Center and Diwan in Cairo are quite reputable over there. I didn't know our salafi brothers had their own arabic though :D

Isn't Arabic the same everywhere?
I understand learning fiqh or aqeedah in such institutions is not good but you are learning a language..what's the problem?

Obviously he doesn't want to be affected by salafis, doesn't want to be learning in a hostile environment, doesn't want to deal with all the 'thats bidah' rubbish.

So you are saying there is no Bidaah amongst the muslims?
If something is a bidaah it is a bidaah and any scholar even Deobandi would say it is bidaah. That is not neccesarily the problem.

i think brohter he is referring to the problems where differences of opinion are present among the muhaddithin, but some people love eagerly to call a weak hadiths as bidah, allthough its only opinion where muhaddithin differed, and some of them also regarded those hadiths as sahih, like taraweeh, salatut tasbih, and so on. dont wanna waste time to searching those things.
Bidah is something which fall down from the sky, but weak hadiths about amal and rewrads didn´t fall downfrom the sky. So if any muhaddithin dont wanna pratise it , ok. but laymen taking their opinion, and warning others by using the signboard of bidah, is exaggrated and extreme

Asslamo Allaikum All,
The brother and his wife had some bad experiences with the Salafees so they want to avoid their institutions.
I am going to collect the information and email, Insha'Allah.
:D Any chance that we can keep this, simple? :p

I noticed a couple of brothers mentioned the Fajr Center in this thread. I'm not doubting that one can learn Arabic there, but I've known several people who have gone there and they all say the environment is quite Salafi. So if that is a concern, Fajr should probably be avoided.

Asslamo Allaikum All,
Al-Fajr to my knowledge is Salafi.
So there isn't a single Deobandi institution anywhere in the world which provides Intensive Resident Arabic tuition?

What about Syria, I'm sure there are many non-salafi ones out there.
Wasn't there one where they didn't give students with beard/niqab admission as they wanted to avoid salafis (although it is a shameful thing to do, I mean the beard/niqab part and not avoiding salafis) :D

The website hasn't been updated in a while. Mufti Yusuf isn't teaching the six month full time Arabic intensive program at this time, and I'm not sure when he plans on offering it again. Actually, he cancelled the weekend classes in Toronto, he only teaches the online program right now.
Also, this program doesn't teach speaking or writing, only reading and grammar (nahu and sarf). So anyone interested in speaking and writing needs to take that into consideration.

you not gonna get a deobandi one bro
from my deep research into this i found that Egypt, Syria and Jordan are your best bet for Mathab orientated institutions
here a list http://www.al-bab.com/arab/language/learn.htm

Salamu `aleykum,
I personally think Syria is indeed one of the better places and "madhab orientated". I'm personally also considering to go their as soon as I finish my study inshaAllah. Qasid in `amman (Jordan) is pretty expensive but an option ofcourse. You might as well consider the Badr institute in Yemen (hadramawt) or for example Sudan (Khartoum and I think Sudanese dialect is one of the closest to real Arabic/fosha).
Egypt is pretty Salafi minded and that seems to increase because alot of da`wah is done there. Although I'm sure it is a good environment to study Arabic.
