I Want To Go There

There’s famine and disease,
There’s hardship more than ease,

There’s poverty widespread,
And problems war has fed,

There are sanctions inhuman,
Imposed by the U.N.

There’re broken roads and homes,
Masjids no fancy domes

There are orphans and widows,
With lives full of sorrows.

Still that’s the place to be,
Best-suited it’s for me!

Because there is Islam
I’m attracted to its charm

There’s freedom and there’s peace,
And blessings that increase.

Where peoples’ faith is pure,
That dunya did not lure

Where they stand up for Islam,
For their pain it is a balm.

There are problems, but there’s hope,
With Allah’s help they’ll cope.

These tests from Allah make,
Them strong for Allah’s sake.

I want to go there and,
Lend them a helping hand.

I want to go there while,
There are children left to smile.

I want to help them live,
And give what I can give.

And pray Allah takes care,
For He is with them there.
