I posted this question in the Q&A section but didnt get a response there, so im posting it here.

I will be leaving for Hajj from India, with my family, inshallah on the 1st or 2nd of Zul Hajj. We were planning to go for Ifrad Hajj since we've already performed Umrah twice this year and we wanted to spend our time after arrival on preparations for Hajj. I'm in doubt if I can do that as it would mean entering the country while not in Ihram (miqaat crossed in plane ride). I could really use some help from someone knowledgeable about this.
I'm an iqama (residency permit) holder and I have a home in Makkah, but I spend most of the year in India. So am I considered as a local? Can I enter Miqaat during travel and take residence there while not in Ihram?

There is hila commonly used here to avoid ihram.
It is especially used by those living in Makkah e mukkaramah and are returning from abroad after eidul fitr and want to perform Hajj.

Instead of making niyyat for hajj at the start of the journey you come with intention of doing some genuine business in Jeddah. You stay in Jeddah complete you work and then you can proceed to Haram without ihram.

Mufti hazrat on the forum are requested to comment if this is inappropriate or wrong.

JazakAllah!

Shaykh Riyadh Ul haqq mentioned the rules of meqaat in hes Bukhari dars last friday and mentioned those who enter makka should be in state of ihram and do umraa.
This was opinion of most of the school of thought hope some ulema can verify that.

My father asked one of the imams at Masjid-ul-Haram and he also said the same as above i.e. we should wear ihram before entering miqaat and perform tamattu hajj.
JazakAllah to all for their help.
