Wa 'alaikum as-salaam wa rahmatullah,
Jazakillahu khairan for the reply. The broken link should have linked to the following poem: Hajat Rava Kon Hai. I look forward to seeing the translated version.........
For all those in the UK, I was informed that Shaykh Zulfiqar will not be visiting the UK this Ramadhan

No, Moulana Burhaan Mehtar of Australia is not a Khalifa of Sheikh Zulfiqaar Ahmad (db).

Asslamo Allaikum,
I was in Chakwaal Pakistan a few weeks ago & Hazrat Maulana Abdur-Raheem Naqshbandi was asking me to setup a web-site for them which I am currently working on. I did advise the Darul-uloom in Chakwaal to take a few hints from Shaykh Zulfiqar Ahmad's site...
I had a chance to review the detailed biography of Hazrat Maulana Ghulam Habib (RA) in Urdu & its brilliant...It would be nice if gets translated into English...
Hazrat did ask me a few questions about Shaykh Zulfiqar Ahmad so I told him that I have only been to his Khanqah once....
The place in Chakwaal is monstrous! I wasn't expecting the Khanqah to be that big & grand!

Is Maulana Abdur-Raheem the son of Hazrat Murshid-e-Alam Ghulam Habib?

Asslamo Allaikum Brother,
Yes he is and I am currently hiding from him because the web-site isn't finished (no fault of mine but he won't take excuses)...
Plus if he finds me then he will lumber me with English translations...
So don't tell him that I am here...

Do the naqshbandis do something called tasbeeh dhikr?
Can someone explain what that is
I think they roll the tasbeeh so it makes a sound and you contemplate on it
I believe the mujadidis do it
Please clarify

Yeah the line of Pir Hazrat Fazal Ali Qureshi use the tasbeeh in muraqaba. Shaykh Abdul Malek Siddque used it also. The lines more affiliated with Pir Fazal Ali Qureshi still use it to this day such as the khulafa of Hazrat Abdul Ghafar. From my knowledge Shaykh Zulfiqar and his khulafa don't use the tasbeeh in muraqaba. If you goto google video they have some videos from a a khalifa of Shaykh Abdul Ghafoor who has some muraqabah videos using the tasbih in Chakwal. Also if you goto http://zikr.co.uk they have some nice audions with the big tasbeeh also.

:salam:,
Hadhrat Khuwaja Fazal Ali Qureshi (the Shaykh of the Grand-Shaykh of Shaykh Zulfiqar Ahmed), while discussing the takfir made upon the Deobandis by some, said:
"I am not a student nor a murid of the Deobandis although you are my witness that my aqaa'id are the same as the Deobandis. The Ahle Deoband are on haqq (truth) and consider me a Deobandi in this regard." [Deeni Dastarkhwan. In Volume 3 Maqamat-e-Fazlia, p. 314. Idara Talifat Ashrafia Multan]

Hazrat Fazal Ali Qureshi did not have problems with deobandis or barelwis. This is why his senior khulafa participated in Urs etc. One can look to Hazrat Fazal Ali Qureshis family many are either deobandis or barelwis. Very similar situation to that of Haji Imdadullah. The khulafa were the cause of the confusion not the murshid.
* The one line that that are deobandis are Hazrat Abdul Malek siddque. All other lines from his other khulafa would be considered Barelwi. This is to show you .. that Pir Fazal Ali Qureshi didn't make it a problem among his people the Goal was to get closer to ALLAH azza wa jal not to bicker like scholars usually do.

I would be interested to know what the Barelwis would say about the statement I quoted above. Khayr, this is off-topic. :jazak: for your responses.

I am not complete agree with this statement (marked in blue). As far as I know there were other Khulafa also who cannot be considered Barelvi, like:
Hazrat Saeed Ahmed Qureshi (rehmatullah alaih) - who was Shaikh of Hazrat Syed Zawwar Hussain Shah (rehmatullah alaih)
Hazrat Moulana Abdul Ghamffor Madni (rehmatullah alaih) - Madina Munawara
Hazrat Muhammad Hussain Sahib (DB) - Kakraywala, Pujab
and Allah Ta`la knows the best!

When I say Barelwi I don't mean followers of Imam Ahmad Raza khan. They more in line didn't affiliate themselves to the barelwis of imam ahmad raza khan. But they did things like urs.. Ya RasulAllah etc.. They got along with barelwis more than deobandis more for some reason. But they didn't attach themselves specfically to any of the schools.

There is really no problem .. it is just happens to be a power struggle in the tariqa. As i know 2 deobandi khalifas of Hazrat Ghulam Habib where there was power struggle and they are related to one another. I won't mention names but this hate exists still exists among them because they use the advice that anyone who is your shaykhs enemy is your enemy. And its first hand experiance as I was a mureed of that Shaykh in the deobandi mujjaddi line. What people forget that there is only one real successor of the shaykh not 40 different branches stemming off the shaykh. If you look at the elders in the tariqa Shah Naqshband time to Hazrat Mujaddi Alf thani and until the time of Hazrat Abdulah Dehlawi there was only one sucessor. How is it in the last 100 or so years we have 66 branches coming from Pir Fazal Ali Qureshi alone. There was always a succesor named and all the khulafa had to go under that one person and take instruction. If you read the lives of The early Mashaikh you will see this is the case. Never people running around and saying i am his khalifa etc. I can do what i want. Its because they can't listen anymore.

That is precisely the problem with many Barelwis. They like to have hegemony and claim that Haji Imdadullah and so and so are "our pirs" and that the Deobandis are off-shoots, which is far from the truth. Anyway, I have provided the words of Hadhrat Fazal Ali Qureshi in which he explicity says his aqa'id are the same as the Deobandis.
