Tawassul In Islam- Proofs regarding its permissability

Assalamu-alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu..

I am fairly new here, alot of you will know from a shia site and www.ummah.com. I have a question. I believe in the permissability of tawassul but i would not know how or where to give the proofs for it to a 'salafi' or a 'wahabi'. Could some one here provide me with some proofs for tawassul. wassalam..
