I don't know where you are from but in Canada, we have non-alcohol based Crest mouthwash that my brother uses.

Hydorgen Peroxide can be used as a mouthwash and it is 100% free of alcohol. It only needs to be diluted to a degree. And not swallowed.

Asslamo Allaikum,

Dentyl PH doesn't have any Alcohol in it unless you know of a specific ingredient in it which you think is Haram?

alcohol makes a mouthwash haram? does it make a difference if its methanol or isobutanol or 7-hepta-4-penta-decanol?

A good mouthwash which is non-alcoholic is ACT Fluoride Rinse... NOT ACT Restoring Mouthwash (this one has alcohol in it). ACT is good at cavity prevention as well as killing bad breath -- and its often recommended by dentists. I don't know about the other ingredients, but they sound okay. Here's the ingredients below:

Active Ingredients: Sodium Fluoride (0.05%) (0.02% w/v fluoride ion)

Inactive Ingredients: Calcium Disodium EDTA, Cetylpyridinium Chloride, Disodium Phosphate, Flavor, FD&C Green 3, Menthol, Methyl Salicylate, Poloxamer 407, Polysorbate 20, Potassium Sorbate, Propylene Glycol, Sodium Benzoate, Sodium Phosphate, Sodium Saccharin, Sorbitol, Water, FD&C Yellow 5

Only ethyl alcohol is Haram, methanol or isobutanol are Halal.

Tom's of Maine has halal mouthwash. Its an American company and I was actually surprised that they said "halal" on their website. They use no alcohol in their mouthwash.

Another alcohol-free mouthwash is ACT 'alcohol-free' mouthwash.
