We went in 2008 with Al-Falah hajj group and for the most part our experience was good, :alhamd:. The group had ulema and spirituality, :alhamd:. We had a lot of bayans and people there to guide anyone at anytime. I would say it wasn't the most luxurious group, but that wasn't a problem for us since my husband and I went alone without our child or parents. If you are looking for comfort and hotels veryyyy close to the haramain(holy sanctuaries) then it is not the best group, but if you are looking for the company of scholars and spirituality with decent accommodations then it is the group to go with. Be ready for lots of walking if you are going with this group. No doubt this wasn't a problem for us since we are young, :alhamd:

Assalamu alaikum brother,

There is a Mufti Ibrahim saheb who has a lot of knowledge of fiqh in general and also Hajj who takes a Hajj group almost every year from Toronto. I know some guys who went with him. I will try to find out exactly which group that was.

And can I also ask who are the ulema who go with the Al-Falah Hajj group?

If you're talking about mufti Ibrahim Qureshi, he was with our group pakland (http://www.paklandtravel.com/) this past Hajj. The main issue with this group is that it is together with Almadina hajj group which wasn't so great and apart from the days of Hajj we didn't really get the company of mufti sahib, because we didn't go on the days he did but later, so if you want his company throughout find out exactly what days he'll be going and book likewise. A group i recommend is Baggia travels (http://www.baggiatravel.com/) they were lucky enough to have maulana Abdur-Raheem limbada sahib of England, and from what i hear their group is really good.
Hope that helps.

Assalamualaikum,

Specifically with regards to those concerns I would recommend Salaheddin Islamic Centre's Hajj Package. My parents went to Hajj through the Salaheddin group and they found all the arrangements to be fantastic Alhamdolillah. It is usually one of the most expensive packages but if you are looking for good arrangements and logistics then this is recommended. My parents are on the older side and due to health issues my mother can't walk for longer distances/extended periods of time, so the vip arrangements from the group were really helpful in this regard. However I cannot speak for the scholars that travel with the group since I do not know enough about them.

Salamu Alekum Brother;

How are you doing?! I read your request. As The Hajj & Umra Groups Manager for the Leading Operator for Hajj and Umra in Canada, I feel that i am responsiable to explain to you the following Facts;

1- Canada has Authroized Companies in Canada, but that doesn't mean that ONLY those authorized Companies, sell Hajj...Some of those companies sell Visas to other an-authorized Companies.
2- Out of those companies, there are only 4 Companies who is allowed in the VIP (Upgraded) camp in Mina and Arafat, which is right across of Jamarat. The rest of the companies are located in Al Moaisam which is 4 to 6 KM walking from Jamarat. and very far from Al-Rahmah Mountain (Arafat).
3- Those Four companies also have their own private Ground Transportations and Catering, the rest use the Government Transportation which is always delayed and crowded. and for the food they use the Dry food.

So if you are going alone, then yes it doesn't matter..but if you are going with your wife or family, then Check these four companies first, speak wich each of them and compare the facilities and the packages.

Why do travel companies in Canada try to jack the prices up for Hajj packages. It seems they want to make money for the whole year just by working during the Hajj duration. Please fear Allah and dont rip-off mumin brothers and take advantage of their need to complete Hajj...Once again if you are a true believer...fear Allah

The prices for hajj is pretty expensive from Canada, but you have to keep in mind we are all the wayy on the other end of the world. you can tailor your package to 4 -3 star hotel to decrease your prices.

According to The Saudi Consulate Section of the Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia a:

"Women over the age of forty-five (45) may travel without a Mahram with an organized group"
