Just wanted to start a thread by getting views and opinions and more importantly Ahadith on these two subjects.

I know the night(i think) of Eid is referred to as laylatul ja'iza, meaning i think the night of reward.

I just wanted to know what sunnah amals are there? anything to recite?any action to be done?

The Night Preceding 'Eid-ul-Fitr'

It had been the practice of the Prophet, Sall-Allahu alayhi wa sallam, that he would not sleep in the night preceding the day of Eid-ul-fitr. This night has been named in a Hadith as the Night of Reward (Lailatul Jaiza). Almighty bestows his rewards on those who have spent the month of Ramadan abiding by the dictates of Shari'ah, and all their prayers in this night are accepted. Therefore, it is desirable to perform nafl prayers in this night. The Prophet, Sall-Allahu alayhi wa sallam, is reported to have said:

Whoever stands up (in worship) in the nights preceding the two Eids expecting rewards from his Lord, his heart will not die when the other hearts will die. (Ibn Majah)

To benefit from this opportunity, one should perform as much worship in this night as he can, and should pray for all his needs and desires.

Asalaamu Alaikum wr wb,

Concerning the night that preceedes Eid ul Fitr:

Yes, there is special significance for the night before Eid.

In a Hadith Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam) said, 'This night is referred to Laylatul Jaaizah (night of prize giving).' Hence, this opportunity should be utilized fully to fulfil one's material and spiritual needs.

Decorating the homes and Musjid is not be permissible. These are ways of
the Kuffaar.

Nabi (Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam) said, 'Whoever emulates a nation is from amongst them.' (Abu Dawud pg.559; HM Saeed)

There is no specific ibaadat (worship) to be performed in the night before Eid. One may engage in any form of ibaadat, salaah, zikr, dua, tilawaat, etc.

and Allah Ta'ala Knows Best

I have attached some files for all to download of Nafils(Superogatory prayers), Zikr's(Rememberance and glorification of Allah) and other A'maal (Good deeds) we can all do to gain the COUNTELESS rewards that can be obtained in this special night and if we pray sincerely on this night then our chances of ALL of our fasts and good deeds during Ramadan are MORE likely to be accepted inshallah!

I don't know if you know Arabic or not, but the last Hadith in Fadhil Ramadhan has a mention about Laylatul Jaizah. At the end of the Arabic part, the sources are mentioned there in Arabic.
