ibn ishaaq was rejected as a hadith narrator but his sirah is reliable....the same is the case with al waqidi....their narrations with regards to hadeeth are not taken seriously but their sirah is great....ibn ishaaq and ibn hishaam are very famous for sirah.....personally i would prefer ibn hisham.......but thats the little i know.......maybe our muhadith friend could tell ur more???:cheesygri yes hadhrat im referring to u.......

brother the narration u mention about seeking ilm in china is unreliable...it should not be quoted....the meaning is obviously true.......but still dont mention it as a hadeeth....it would be better if u take it off...

Yes, even you though, please tell me more. Who has regarded him as rejected? Any and ALL information on this matter is requested.
Furthermore, please explain to me (i am inquiring, not challenging though), how he is rejected as a hadeeth narrator and yet has his work accepted. To me this is surprising, but i am certain there is a lot that i do not know about the subject, so please fill me in, in shaa' Allaah.

Start a different thread for the China ahadeeth (there are multiple sources, not one), rather than diverting the subject which this thread is dedicated to in shaa' Allaah.
