Steaming veggies is one of the best ways to retain nutrients but you can also try roasting them in the oven.

ASWRWB brother "The fake sheihk" and sister "Quraatulain",

Jazak Allah kheir for the wonderful advice. Unfortunately, I cook my meal at work (LOL), so I don't have equipment to do steaming there. I just have basic kitchen stuff, (pan and spoon basically). Is there any other way then steaming, as I like to have my meals cooked fresh, I don't want to cook them at home and take them to work.

Thanks Again.

Walikumusalam

Usually when steaming you would either use a steamer which looks like this http://www.crateandbarrel.com/family.aspx?c=748&f=14011 or a colander. If you don't have any you can use a pan .

Here is how I steam my veggies without a steamer..

Chop your vegetables to the desired size. The larger the pieces, the longer they will take to steam.

Heat a large pot or pan on med-high heat.If usinig a non-stick pan add a tiny bit of oil.

Add veggies to pan with 1-2tbsp water

Cover and let cook for a 5-10 mins depending on what vegetables you're using.

Cook until desired consistency add more water if necessary.

When finish cooking you can season with desired spices if you prefer your veggies to be flavored.

hope this helps inshaAllah.
