Insha Allah if we can post up an easy to understand FAQ with strong arguments we can guide people:

1. How is Sufism part of Islam when it appeared later and is full of greek philosophy and crazy head banging?

2. How are there four different schools of law? Didn't the Prophet :saw: do things one way? Should a sin be a sin no matter what a "school of law" says about it? They didn't exist at the time of the Prophet :saw:.

3. How are there two schools of aqeedah? Don't we only have one aqeedah? Al-Ashari and al-Maturidi were born long after the Prophet :saw:.

4. How does Allah (SWT) not have a location? Doesn't the Qur'an say that he established himself on the throne? Allah (SWT) says he has hands and feet, why shouldn't we believe him?

5. Why isn't the Qur'an and Sunnah sufficient? Why do we need schools of fiqh? Abu Hanifa and Shafii and all the Imams said "When the hadith is Sahih that is my madhab!"

6. The Prophet :saw: said that there would be 72 sects in the fire. This shows that the minority of Muslims will be in heaven. How can the majority of Muslims be right if this is true?

7. How can you ask dead people to make du'a for you, or Rasul Allah :saw: to make du'a for you, or do tawassul at all? How is this not Shirk? Why can't you just ask Allah?

8. Where did the Prophet :saw: speak of Ma'arifah or "Seeing Allah with the soul" or any of these states the Sufis speak about?

Jazakallahu Khayrun,

Insha Allah someone with more knowledge than me can answer these in a much better, more concise, and stronger argued way. I do have the answer to no. 8 from the Sources of GH Explanatory Notes.

This is just my explanation, it maybe wrong:

The Saved Sect, despite being just 1 in number, may have a HUGE following. It's followers may outnumber the combined followers of the 72 Baatil sects.

1. How is Sufism part of Islam when it appeared later and is full of greek philosophy and crazy head banging?

Becasue it didn't appear long after islam..and isn't full of greek philosophy...you know why?...becasue 1...greek philosopy was before Islam...and 2...what is up with head banging?

2. How are there four different schools of law? Didn't the Prophet :saw: do things one way? Should a sin be a sin no matter what a "school of law" says about it? They didn't exist at the time of the Prophet :saw:.

the schools of thought (not law) are the same..exept that the method of which things are done is diffrent

3. How are there two schools of aqeedah? Don't we only have one aqeedah? Al-Ashari and al-Maturidi were born long after the Prophet :saw:.

read above

4. How does Allah (SWT) not have a location? Doesn't the Qur'an say that he established himself on the throne? Allah (SWT) says he has hands and feet, why shouldn't we believe him?

Becasue locaiton and direct is an attribute of creatioed things..Allah is not created..Allah also says he does not resemble the creation..thus..he doesn't have hands ro gfeet..Allah also says kill every single christians and jew after ramadan..why don't we just do it?

5. Why isn't the Qur'an and Sunnah sufficient? Why do we need schools of fiqh? Abu Hanifa and Shafii and all the Imams said "When the hadith is Sahih that is my madhab!"

because no one alive today knows exactly what the qur'an or Sunnah means..we can't interpert it ourselves

Why can't you just ask Allah?

who asks dead people to make dua for us?

8. Where did the Prophet :saw: speak of Ma'arifah or "Seeing Allah with the soul" or any of these states the Sufis speak about?

which sufis are you tlaking about..the real ones..of the fake ones?

Noble Brother OmarH,

I must say it's an extremely useful idea. If there is a chance of people getting on the right path through this, inshaAllah, I can ask a scholar to provide informative and educational replies to it.

However, the best way would be , that the "salfis" themselves ask these questions. This would be more benificial thataway.
If there are salafi brothers reading this forum(and there are , I know), having such and such questions, make a list, and post here, then we can abstract them.

Asalamu alaykum,

Indeed these are some of the many questions we are asked by the poor Salafis.

It is a good idea to answer these questions here as a reference.

Anyway, regarding question number six:

6. The Prophet said that there would be 72 sects in the fire. This shows that the minority of Muslims will be in heaven. How can the majority of Muslims be right if this is true?

Tell them that intercession was made through Imam Bukhari, and the dua was accepted.

I believe it is narrated by Nasar ibn Hassan that after the death of Imam Muhammad ibn Ismail Bukhari there was a great drought in Samarkand. The people of Samarkand prayed to Allah swt for rain many times, but rain did not come. Finally a pious man went to the Qadi of Samarkand and told him to go to the grave of Imam Bukhari (ra) and pray to Allah swt using Imam Bukhari for intercession. The Qadi and the people went to Imam Bukhari's grave and prayed to Allah swt for rain through the medium of Imam Bukhari. Allah swt answered the dua... there was so much rain that it rained continuously for 7 days, to the extent that no-one was able to enter or leave Samarkand due to the amount of rain.
