Your title heading say's the Sharh is by the late Allama Abdal Fattah (ra), but then you say above it is from Sh. Zaid Shakir. Please clarify if it is a Sharh by Zaid Shakir based on Shaykh Abdal Fattah's tahqiq or what?

I should clarify.he does the sharh
but at the beginning of the talk he makes it clear
that most of it is all based
from the sharh of the great scholar shaykh abdul fattah abu ghudda!

salaam alaykum,
Shaykh Abdal Fattah Abu Ghuddah did tahqiq of the book only and not sharh. Shaykh Abdal Fattah Abu Ghuddah - may Allah have mercy on him - was one of the great Mujahids who joined Ikhwan al-Muslimeen and was their leader in Syria before Hafiz Asad, father of Bashar Asad, attacked his city to wipe out the Islamic movement in which the Nusayri Allawite was successful.
Shaykh Abdal Fattah was indeed a great scholar who travelled to many countries including India for the sake of gaining Islamic knowledge.
He passed way in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia where he was professor in King Saud Islamic University and later his body was flown to Madinah for burial.

As'salamu 'alaykum,
The explanation of the text is done by Imam Zaid. I haven't listened to it in a while, but it is so straightforward that it doesn't require the "classical" commentary that will be found with most books. Instead, he makes it relevant to our contemporary times. It truly is one of those "must hears." It is tasawwuf in its purest, most practical form and the most fanatical anti-Sufi won't find any serious objections in it.

This was free on the internet a long time ago. I dowloaded it.
Very good but depressing man - especially the CD about death.
Wassalam.
