Asalaamu alaykum wa rahmatullah...
What are Habashis and what are they following? I had jumped into a PalTalk Room that seemed very traditional and I enjoyed listening (a non-salafi paltalk room... comeon!) but another sister I asked about it said the group was run by Habashis. About all I can figure out about them is that the movement started in Ethiopia... anything else, I can't find.
Any info? What of theirs coincides with traditional islam and what deviates?
Jazakallah khair in advance.

Salam,
can someone tell me what paltalk is and how i get onto it etc. as for habashis, they are sufis who are considered to have gone to extremes in that they do takfeer of many scholars like Shaykh Nazim and say things like whoever doubts the kufr of Ibn Taymiyyah is himself a kafir.

As sallamu alaikum
Akhi, to get in to PalTalk you will need to download the PT software and then make urself a user Id and password and then u can join their chatrooms. I think most of the chatrooms in the Islam section are Salafi. There some run by submitters and some by Sufis.
searcg google to find paltalk. But to be honest with you it a waste of time.
Wa alaikum as sallam

I read somewhere that habashi's wanted to change the kibla in north america towards southeast and that they go under some islamic charitable organizations name in the u.s. and the founder of this jamaat said thats muawiyah (ra) was a fasiq (please correct if i'm wrong). They also have some other weird beliefs as mentioned above.

stray sect? i believe otherwise. Al-Ahabsh is an organization led by Shaykh ^Abdullah al-Harariyy. The main objective of Al-Ahbash is to spread the truth of Islam, by teaching the correct belief of Ahlus-Sunnah wal-Jama^ah. And Allah knows the amount of great efforts they have put in from Lebanon to France to California. may Allah reward them. wa Allahu Alam.

Salamu Alaikum
Br. Abu Usama has clarified some points and the link Brother Omar gave is also accurate to an extent, although not fully.
The Ahbash maybe traditional in the sense that they follow a Madhab and the Sunni 'Aqida to an extent, or in the sense that they uphold Tasawwuf and so forth but this does negate the fact that they definitely hold beliefs which other Ulema have severely criticised, such as their opinion of Sayyidina Mu'awiyah as well as their constant Takfir on high ranking Ulema such as Shaikh Ramadhan al Bouti. This is enough to avoid them.
May Allah save us from such people, and remember that avoiding harm is preferred to achieving benefits.
