:salam:
Many of us are aware that the claimants to the Salaf in this age are totally anti-Sufi. I have already mentioned that there have always been fake Sufi's as well as genuine one's. One of the most recent examples of a work compiled on the issue of Tasawwuf and what the major authorities that the pseudo-Salafiyya claim to accept, admire or take from when it suits them is:
Mawqif Aimma al-Haraka al-Salafiyya min al-Tasawwuf wal Sufiyya
By: Shaykh Abdal Hafiz al-Makki, originally from India, in 288 pages.
A few years ago this Shaykh came to England. He is on record as saying that after he compiled this work, he sent it to the grand Mufti of the Saudi-Salafi's: Abdul Aziz ibn Baz, to endorse its findings and write a forward to it. No surprise to say, that Bin Baz made his excuses via one of his students and so the forward never appeared from his pen. The suggested reason for this was that if he was to endorse this work, then he would be condoning certain aspects of Tasawwuf, its validity, history and true Tasawwuf; - hence this would be defeating his objective to continue their malignment of the Sufiyya, just as they continued to do with Asha'ira etc...
The book contains many quotations from:
Imam Ahmad ibn Hanbal
Ibn Taymiyya al-Harrani al-Hanbali
Hafiz al-Dhahabi (al-Shafi'i)
Ibn Qayyim al-Jawziyya al-Hanbali
Hafiz ibn Kathir (al-Shafi'i)
Hafiz ibn Rajab al-Hanbali
Muhammad ibn Abdal Wahhab al-Najdi al-Hanbali
Attatched is a scan. I may put the whole work up here if requested.
