Gender-specific profile viewing.

In our on-going aim to create as halal an environment as possible, starting from today :insh: members will only be able to see the profiles of members who are the same gender as them. If you aren't a member of either the brother or sister group, you won't be able to see any profiles at all.

If a sister could read the brother profile what could happen than? Are only the information about his posts there.

I believe you will get this prompt:

Some ppl may have addtional details about themselves in their profiles such as their bios, birthday, location, occupation, and their interests.

Oops! I believe it is as the sister has said. The user may have put up personal information like email, height, weight, eye colour or whatever :mrgreen:

Brother mummun has not signed up for access to the brothers *usergroup*, so he can't access the brothers forum or use private messaging for example. Once he signs up to the usergroup (if he so wishes), you'll be able to see his profile and he'll be able to see yours.

Basically, if you can private message them, you can see their profile :D

One small downside is now we cant see the links people put on profiles...oh well.

You may still see their signature, if they wish to publically disseminate a link, they may do so there (within sunniforum rules, of course). We would recommend you move sites of a personal nature into your profile.

u can still see ages and location of other members tho if u click on the 'members list' icon in 'blue' mode.

i suppose the ages and locations are 'extracted' from the public profiles automatically...

[i know some ppl are particular about not revealing their age to non-mahrams]
