As salaamu alaykum.

I was just wondering whether or not there is a Barelvi equivalent to Madrassa at Deoband, i.e. a madrassah that major Barelvi scholars look to for guidance and support and at which many of their "Kibaar" scholars would teach at, and with which many of the smaller institutions would be affiliated with?

If not, then are there at least some rather prominent Barelvi institutions in the Indian Subcontinent or abroad?

This is not an attempt to stir up a discussion of which institutions or set of scholars is better, just an honest, well-intention (insha'allah) inquiry to satisfy my curiosity on a number of things.

If anyone could supply the answer that I am looking for, please post it.

Jazakallahu Khair.

Wa'salaam.

According to my knowledge there is a Madrassah founded by Khan sahib's father Maulana Naqi Ali which was called Madrassah Misbah ut Tahzeeb and another one founded by Khan sahib called Madrassah Manzar-e-Islam. Both in Bareilly.

What about Al-Jamia'tul-Ashrafia, Mubarakpur, U.P, India? Anyone know anything about this institution?

During out Barelvi life, we used to refer to the following ,

"Darululoom Naeemiyah"
"Darululoom Amjadiyah, Karachi"
Peer Muhammad Akram Shah Al-Azhari's Institution (Don't remember the name).

For maulana Noorani's faction, Institute of Islamic Missions, Karachi.

Al Jamiat ul Ashrafia in Mubarakpur is probably the best Dar ul Uloom in India.
