Who else do people think should attend the conference in terms of speakers. Personally, I can think of:
Shaykh Abdur-Rahman ibn Yusuf (though I know last year he was having Visa issues)
Shaykh Hussain Abdul-Sattar
Mufti Muhammad ibn Adam al-Kawthari
Shaykh Ahmed Ali
Shaykh Mukhtar Mughrawi is always good

Is anyone from sunniforums helping to oragnize this event?
Is their any possible arrangements for people coming from other cities from canada? Eg. Students (can they stay over at the masjid)??
Hypermodestmuslima

Last time they said the brothers can stay over at the Masjid...
Why don't you try emailing the Masjid and stuff?
or perhaps calling them...insha'allah...
If you want you can post your questions here and I can call and ask them and post the answers back. It might be tedious to call in from Quebec....

The best part of this event is the fact that its free...many who can't afford to attend other Islamic events because of the price attached to it...Inshaa'allah will be able to attend this event...
It would be beneficial if you register online as well...I guess it gets easier...
PS 38 More days!

I am slightly dissapointed that there is no extra speaker along with the token ones. To be honest though, i was slightly surprised they were able to get Shaykh Abdul Sattar last year. Hopefully, theyll have a surprise speaker to liven up things. har har.

Since he'll be extremely busy with the Ijtimah in Chicago then 0.9% chance he'll turn up.
We can still hope Insha'allah.

Perhaps we should make Youth Tarbiyah our informal SF ijtema...a chance for everyone to meet up (brothers and sisters, in their own respective groups), :insh:.
For SFers who are not too far (Montreal, NY, etc.) this might be a good chance to get in on a beneficial program, gain knowledge from Ulama, and put faces to SF names as well.

See you brothers later on today, :insh:. For the brothers who recognize me, meet me and :insh: I'll try to hook you up with the other SFites. If you don't recognize anyone, then ask Ml. Husain (imam of the masjid; if you don't recognize him, ask someone to point out the imam to you) where Ziad, the eat-halal.com person is. (Don't say eat-halal guy, he'll probably give you weird looks).

:mash:, it went pretty well today. :alhamd:, I finally got to meet Mufti Abdurrahman ibn Yusuf :). Got to discuss things and semi-chill together in a meeting with other ulama, which was great, :alhamd:. I really liked his talk (made me feel better) as well as Ml. Riyadh-ul-Haq's and Ml. Ahmed Ali's. I missed Ml. Chandia.
Ml. Riyadh-ul-Haw actually remembered me from back in '97 when he took our final exam in Cornwall and when he came to my house (though I wasn't there). It was nice meeting him too.
Mufti AR was actually looking for the sunniforum brothers, lol, and he asked for Goldi by name (where where you man?!). I pointed out a few brothers to him.
Oh, one of the question read, "is it permissible to read Harry Potter books?" Ml. Husain promptly marked an "X" on the question and put it aside. lol. (They did ask for relevant questions only)
Dr. Munir el-Kassim (sp?) almost ended up conducting a marriage workshop. Dunno why he got all those questions...people should just log on to sunnipath instead to get answers on all that.
I liked Ml. Ahmed Ali's shock-and-awe treatment, (after mentioning drinking, going out, etc.) "....go do whatever you want. GO! We'll see who has the last laugh on the Day of Judgment." (something to that effect)

my dad got a cool idea. i SHOULD (iA) be there tommorow.
Shaykh Ahmed Ali was amazing yesterday. the White thread press book stall is the BEST stall out there......go buy something....
yes!!! i can be the first post-YTC to post.
Shaykh Abdur-Rahman ibn Yusuf mashallah, talked about very crucial things, and topics that need to be addressed over and over. It was things we need to hear but don't hear often enough. alhumdullila.
I did miss shaykh sulyman mulla, and shaykh husain abdul-sattar. had they came it woulda been quite a lineup. but then we can't have it all, can we? another thought was i wonder how it would be if all these scholors were in one city? that would be quite interesting. although the konwledge needs to be spread out, but that concentration like it was at YTC, everywhere you turn there's an esteemed scholor. it was enjoyable be in such a gathering.
Shaykh Ahmed Ali and Shaykh RiyadulHaq were also amazing. Alhumdullila. gotta make shukr to have been so privilged to be there this weekend.

Coming back to scarborough felt like coming home again. The faces, the people, the vibe. I was feeling that.
Shaykh AR was on fire. He's got that Cali going off tangents streak to em that we all love so much. Mentioning Razi and Sultan Tipu in the same talk? Ya, thats hot.
YTC, although I missed saturday, was and still is one of the highlights of my summer and iA will remain to be for many years.
The bazaar was dissapointing. I had all the White Thread stuff except the 'Absolute Essentials' one that i bought. The ICNA book service was the main attraction. im sorry, i dont approve of their selection nor ICNA. The two best stalls are always the IHYA guys and that one brother that sells stuff by academics (Nasr et al.)
I loved the atmosphere. Probably because i missed it so much living out in Hamilton where the muslims and the MSA is liberal (which i love, lets not get confused). But sometimes, you just wanna see a foot long beard and some niqabs to make sure ure still muslim. That and the steady streams of Maulanas. Man, those Maulanas. I love them.
It was great to see ibn_abdullah, Ibn Umaysh, Ajeej, eat-icecap-halal, maaz. I love you all.
(oh btw, that sisters Q&A session with Shaykh AR after the program? It was all maulana eat-halal-ud-deen. him and Shaykh AR conspired together for that one.)
