"Becoming Closer to Allah (swt)" is a series of programs started in December 2004 in New York to arrange gatherings of sacred learning. Allah (swt)' s Mercy is attracted to gatherings of those who remember Him, and to those who love and obey Him. Are u sure he resides in New York? Is he one of Shaykh Zulfiqars disciples? Or have i confused two people together? I know one of his disciples is in Pakistan also named Shaykh Hafidh Irfan. Perhaps he moved to the states and i'm mistaken.

Hadrat Shaykh Hafidh Sohail Irfan (db) is a Khalifah of Hadrat Shaykh Zulfiqar Ahmad (db). Hadrat Shaykh Sohail has been living in the States for a little over a decade now. For most of this period, Shaykh Sohail has been living in Mansey (in Rockland County, New York).

As to your confusion, there is another Shaykh Irfan, but I do not know if he is a Khalifah of Shaykh Zulfiqar's, or if he visits the States as such. It is true however, that Shaykh Sohail visits Canada from time-to-time to impart the precious knowledge he has gained from Shaykh Zulfiqar. Unfortunately, I do not believe he is planning a trip to Canada any time in the near future.
